Hike with Otto Bridge to Nowhere

September 20, 2025 @ 7:00 am - 1:00 pm

Hi all Sokol members,

Sokol Los Angeles plans to do an all day long local hike in the San Gabriel Mountains to “Bridge to Nowhere”. The date is set to September 20, so if you think of going, put it in your calendar.

History. The East Fork Road was still under the construction when it was washed out during the great flood of Match 1-2, 1938. The East Fork Road project was abandoned as a result of the floods, leaving the bridge forever stranded in the middle of what is now the Sheep Mountain Wilderness.

This hike follows the creek, therefore, on a hot Summer day you can refresh yourself by dipping in the creek. Due to limited parking in the mountains we need to be there early in the morning. Take Azusa exit of 210 Fwy. We will meet by 7 am on Alameda Ave between 1st and 2nd street, see link below.
From there we will drive to the mountains in shared cars.
Wear some older tennis shoes which you can walk through the water and swimming suit if you want to immerse yourself in the pools. It is recommended and highly important to bring cover for your head, sun lotion, enough drinking water and of course your lunch. We will be back by cars on Alameda, Ave between 4-5 pm.
If you don’t feel up for the entire length of the hike you can still come and spend time at any place by the creek.

Any question please call Otto (714) 785-9929
I will remind you about this event again in September.

Nazdar,
Otto, Sokol LA VP
